I built the business I was never trained to build. Then I wrote down how.
I’m Nigel Chua. I qualified as a hand occupational therapist and spent years being excellent in the room — and humbled by everything I didn’t know about running the business around it.
Since [2005] I’ve been growing revenue, income, and businesses for orthopedic, sports, post-surgical and musculoskeletal physiotherapists, hand therapists, and podiatrists — first my own, then others’.
The short version:
- 2008 — Started my first practice. My first startup. Built it from zero.
- 2014 — Sold it for seven figures to a medical group. Fully exited 15 June 2019.
- 2019 — Took over a practice in crisis — multiple director and shareholder exits — and revived it. Not just rescued: rejuvenated. From a single clinic to a multi-clinic group. Five clinics in 2026.
- Along the way — added new income pillars and disciplines to multiply the revenue, hired and managed scores of high-performing therapists, and cleanly exited the toxic and unproductive ones (including the productive-but-toxic ones).
I’m not a consultant who reads about this. I’m a builder-operator. I did it, lost money learning it — call it tuition — and built systems so I’d never have to learn it twice.
